🥟😍 Pan-fried veggies steamed bun - Sheng Jian Bao! 📷 by @woon.heng 🚨🚨Recipe: (yields 20-25 small buns)⁣
🍃Dough⁣ ingredients:
~ 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour⁣
~ 1 pack yeast (2 1/4 teaspoon)⁣
~ 3 teaspoons sugar⁣
~ 3 teaspoons oil⁣
~ 2/3 cup warm plantbased milk ⁣🍃Filling: ⁣
~ 4 cups finely shredded cabbage⁣
~ 1 cup chopped kale⁣
~ 7-8 mushrooms, soak until soft & slice thinly⁣
~ 1 carrot, finely chopped⁣
~ 2 teaspoons thinly sliced ginger, 3 cloves minced garlic⁣
~ 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 teaspoons stir fry sauce, 1 teaspoon sugar, a pinch of white pepper⁣
~ salt, oil, sesame oil, minced ginger, chopped scallions ✔️Mix flour, yeast & sugar in a bowl, add in wet ingredients. Using a dough hook, mix until a soft dough forms. Then, turn dough onto a floured surface, & knead for 4-5 minutes until you see a smooth top. Place dough in a bowl & let it rest for 30 minutes, covered. ⁣
⁣✔️Meanwhile, in a heated pan with 2 teaspoons oil, sauté ginger, mushrooms & garlic until fragrant, then add cabbage & sauce, cook for 2 minutes. Taste test & season accordingly. Place mixture in a bowl. Sauté kale with a little oil & salt, add to cabbage mixture along with chopped scallions, minced ginger, carrot & drizzle of sesame oil.⁣
⁣✔️Place dough on your countertop and roll into a log. Divide to 20-25 pieces & roll into a ball. Take 1 dough & press down with palm, then using a roller, roll out to about 3 inches round. Roll the side of the wrapper thinly, leaving a good thickness in the middle. Place a heaping tablespoon of filing & pleat to seal. ⁣
⁣✔️In a heated pan with a drizzle of oil, place buns bottom down & let cook for 30 secs until the bottom turns light brown. Add hot water to cover 1/3 of the buns, cover lid & turn heat to low-med. Cook until all water is absorbed.
Serve warm with homemade chili oil in soy sauce

It’s ratatouille season! 👏👏 This recipe is the *perfect* end-of-summer dish packed with fresh produce: tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini and yellow squash, and bell pepper. This summer, we sampled authentic French ratatouille in Provence. I vowed to come up with my own favorite ratatouille recipe when I came home. This recipe is a little different. The trick is to roast the vegetables, then add them to a simmering tomato sauce. ✨💖⁠

🌈😍 Rainbow nourish bowl! 📷 by @foodpassionical 🚨🚨Recipe: filled with baked sweet potatoes, cucumbers, purple cabbages, pea sprouts, carrots, quinoas and stir fry shiitake mushrooms with garlic. Throw them all in a bowl, drizzle with lemon tahini (Serve 2)
1⃣1 cup quinoa, rinse throughly under cool running water and drain. Toast the quinoa in a saucepan, stir constantly to let the water to evaporate. Toast about 2 minutes. Next pour in 2 cups of water and salt. Cover and cook for 15 minutes with low heat. Once cooked remove from the heat. Make sure it’s covered and let it stand for 5 minutes.
2⃣1 medium sweet potatoes, cut into bite sized, drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper. Bake in a preheated oven until golden and ensure it’s cook through.
3⃣8 to 10 shiitake mushrooms (cut off the hard part from the bottom of the stem). Heat 1 tsp oil and add in the mushrooms. Quick mix with 1 tbsp vegan hoi xin sauce, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp soy sauce, 1/2 tsp sesame oil and 1/2 tsp white pepper and 1/4 cup water. Cook for about 5 minutes with low heat.
4⃣In the meantime, clean and sliced cucumbers, purple cabbages, carrots and pea sprouts. Arrange all the veggies into your favourite bowl with lemon tahini dressing drizzle onto it.
5️⃣For the sauce, whisk together 4 tbsp tahini, 2 tsp your fav sweetener, 2 tbsp lemon juice, 3 tbsp water, salt and pepper for taste.

I used to think that plastic bags were the only way to keep produce fresh. I. WAS. WROOOOOONNNGG.

As it turns out, greens want to BREATHE. They thrive in a damp, humid environment that is not too wet and not too dry. And mine prefer a pillowy, 3-layer unbleached cotton storage bag that hydrates while wicking away moisture. High maintenance much? 🙄
