"walls." plan on the go, and go with the flow? uh no, wish we hadn’t here. all visitors that come to granada first make sure they have entry tickets to the alhambra or alhamra, then they proceed to book airfare and hotel - it’s a known rule. [side note - hamra means red in arabic and is also my younger sister’s name, and alhambra loosely translates into “the red one” due to the fortress city’s walls being somewhat reddish]. we were the rare idiots that thought we’d get lucky to enter, as we always have… but we didn’t. .
we had no choice but to hang our heads low and hang out in the free areas (open to the public) which just added more salt to the red wound. if the gardens were so mesmerizing, can’t imagine how breathtaking the citadel would be. must return someday before i die. it’s like we saw the trailer to the film, but were refused entry to watch the actual movie. ya feel my pain, yet? .
people! if you’re going to granada, book your tickets to the al-hambra, well in advance. planning a trip doesn’t only advise you what to do, it also advises you what not to do. .
