“Some beautiful paths cannot be discovered without getting lost.”- Erol Ozan ✨
✨
Since the past few years, Jaipur has become such a tourist hotspot that I usually come across at least 20 photos from this beautiful city on my newsfeed, every single day! With its ever-growing popularity, it has become that much harder to find places that aren’t crowded or saturated on IG! ✨
✨
Fortunately, I came across this beautiful temple few months ago & had a chance of visiting it again yesterday and to my surprise, I found this place all to myself. It’s barely 5 minutes away from the world famous Amer Fort and still not a single human in sight. ✨
✨
Isn’t it amazing how we can still come across places like that only if we look hard enough? Now, I know it won’t last long and soon this would be added in every tourist’s list of places to see but let’s enjoy it till it doesn’t become overly famous! ✨
✨
In case you were wondering, this temple pictured here was built somewhere between 1599-1608 AD by Queen Kanakwati of King Man Singh the 1st, in memory of their son Jagat Singh.

Paro Taktsang (Dzongkha: སྤ་གྲོ་སྟག་ཚང་, also known as the Taktsang Palphug Monastery and the Tiger's Nest), is a Himalayan Buddhist sacred site and temple complex it is located upper Paro valley in Bhutan.
.
.
Taktsang Lhakhang is Bhutan’s most iconic landmark and religious site. The name Taktsang translates to “The Tiger’s Nest”. This temple is one of the most holy sites in the kingdom and clings impossibly to a sheer cliff face 900 meters above the Paro Valley.

It was first built in 1692 at a cave where Guru Rimpoche meditated in the 7th century A.D. Legend states that Guru Rimpoche flew to the site atop the back of a tigress and meditated in the cave for 3 years, 3 months, 3 days and 3 hours in order to subdue evil demons residing within it. The cave has been considered a sacred site ever since and many famous saints have travelled to meditate in it.
