In celebration for today's Astronomy Photographer of the Year being chosen, I thought I'd post the image that was nominated. This image remains to date one of my favorites. At the time, it was by far the most time I had ever spent processing an image, equating to over 10 hours. By the end of it though, I couldn't have been happier with the end product. Not only that, but it was around the time of this image, that my work really started picking up steam on here and on Reddit. It's been quite a year, I only hope the next year is as exciting and filled with even more clear skies and moonless nights. the backlit wisps along the horsehead's upper ridge are illuminated by sigma orionis, a young multi-star system just off the top of the hubble image. a harsh ultraviolet glare from one of these bright stars is slowly evaporating the nebula. atop the horse's "head," two fledgling stars peek out from their now-exposed nurseries.
gas clouds surrounding the horsehead have already dissipated, but the tip of this jutting pillar contains a slightly higher density of hydrogen and helium, laced with dust. this casts a shadow that protects material behind it from being photo-evaporated, and a pillar structure forms. astronomers estimate that the horsehead formation has about five million years left before it too disintegrates.
located about 1,500 light-years away, the horsehead nebula is part of a much larger complex in the constellation orion known as the orion molecular cloud, which also houses the orion nebula (m42), the flame nebula, and barnard's loop.
for more information on hubble, follow the link in our bio.

This is it folks. EVERYTHING. The diameter of the observable #universe is about 93 billion light-years, putting the edge of what it's known at about 46.5 billion light-years away.

Thinking back in a time where we actually had storms here in Germany (lol) this unusual one came to my mind. After missing a spectacular squall line by few miles it payed off with an isolated high based and low topped (yes that apparently works) mesocyclone, shooting some decent lightning. Sometimes nature rewards you on days like those.

This one is inspired by my optician, during my eye test we had a great discussion about vincent van gogh which then led on to don mclean's song "starry, starry night"...the song has been stuck in my head ever since! and of course he then ruined it by putting the dreaded eye drops in!

Animal Totem Tuesday

I asked Dear Brother Alec whom I facilitate full moon ceremonies with, what is the animal Totem of today.

He had just returned from the east coast, and exclaimed fire flies 🔥! After searching images for some time I stumbled upon this.

This is an image captured by Nasa of the #SevenSisters #constellation #Pleiades .

There are animals in the universe beyond just this rock.

We are chasing a flaming ball of gas that is headed towards a black hole, which leads to the unknown.

The essence of our Being existed before this body.

Where was it?

Perhaps YOU are from this hot spot bubbling in Conscious and spiritual communities around the globe.

I channel this constellation.

I was once there, and receive messages from this collective.

We are all conduits, channels, divine messengers, when we allow ourselves to experience the #magick .

The space between the fire and the smoke.

The void of un-manifested space brimming with pure potentiality.

We all have access to the eternally expanding and evolving universal energy. In India 🇮🇳 they call it #prana in China #Qi or #Chi and in the West we generally say energy.

There are many mysteries.

The message of the moment is to realize that we know what we know and “we do not know what we do not know”. May we have an open heart and mind to the messages that the universe is Always showing us.

I call upon the Seven Sisters Of Pleiades to Bless All Those Who Read These Words. May it spark, assimilate and integrate a spiritual awakening of the awareness of ONEness.

Thank YOU for releasing the illusion of separateness.

YOU are Safe to Love and Be Loved.

Bless Your Life.

Bless Your Path.
