•131• life is like running.
i chose the track
i chose the terrain
my shoes - thats my weapon.
i chose the pace
i chose who to run with
or run alone
how far to run
thats up to me too
you see, the beauty of running;
is that i don’t have to be good. i don’t have to be the fastest, or the fittest. all that matters, is that one foot passes the other. as long as i’m doing that, its going to be ok. as long as i’m doing that, i am running. because the only competition in life that matters is the one against myself. i seek to better myself, who i was yesterday, not my neighbour.
the gravity of time fights me, beats me, resists me. so i wear thin. my breath shortens, i lose hope. i lose sight of the finish line.
One evening while visiting cape town earlier this month, i strolled along the city’s famous seaside promenade, captivated by the way the sunlight filtered through the mist rolling in from the ocean. i took a series of photos of people exercising on an outdoor gymnasium, experimenting with different angles and distances. then, right when i was about to click the shutter again, the young girl in the center of the photo looked up and trained her gaze directly at my camera. click.

Wow. i can hardly believe that it's two full months since 'wings for life' was published on amazon.
achieving #1 bestseller success in the usa with a debut book was very exciting - because the book came straight from my heart to that of its readers ❤💖❤ but the real measure of success for me is in the anticipation of inspiring others to better their own lives.
because many years ago i found the key to do just that.
back then, self belief gave me the invisible 'wings' i needed to move forwards to a magical new phase of my life.
i stepped up to the table, and refused to accept things as they were.
to the outside world i was living the dream: a luxurious lifestyle with celebrity style home suspended from the side of a mountain in beautiful cape town, with beach and shimmering sea below.
luxury cars, expansive wardrobe, live in staff, including a chef, and access to a wonderful social life were all part of my daily agenda.
i know it's hard to believe, but i was actually at the lowest emotional ebb of my life - dreading the start of each new day... life is not always as it seems. 🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘 if you'd like to hear a little more of my story, and access the free first chapter of 'wings for life', head over to my website at;
