It's important to listen to and recognise when your body needs a break from running and, having found my last two runs harder than normal, and feeling a bit fatigued in general, i clearly needed it.
i made the decision to hang my trainers up this week, chill out and enjoy my time away. best decision made. i'm now feeling thoroughly refreshed and ready to get focussed and get back on it.

On my marathon journey i’ve managed to develop a few new skills...one of which is pulling a ridiculous face whenever i see a camera that in no way represents how exhausted (and in this photo in pain) i am.
The big countdown has begun. less than 7days now for #pzumaratonwarszawski many thanks @kura_workout for top i will run with. sorry but i will spam all my accounts (apart of @couple_of_london ) from now on looking for support and motivation to break 3:59:59 for 42.195km

seeing @anthony_joshua smash it was awesome! the atmosphere was electric and that knock-out in the 7th was quality to see live 🥊

now for a day of chilling and eating.....a lot! much to the disgust of cat and @laurajbrine i’ve got the full grey tracksuit on and the slothing station is well and truly open 🤣
Planned to go for a walk today but ended up doing a walk/jog. super sweaty but that's what you get from the humidity here. virtual running when you're a few thousand miles apart from your crew @backpackersclc 🏃🏻♀️
finding it bit difficult to run a longer distance - the parks we go to is approx 500m loop so i have to make several same loops. i like looking at stuff when running, hence why my favourite route is along river thames! .
Bring on chicago - took 4 days complete rest after @berlinmarathon but with @chimarathon in 16 days i wanted to get straight back on it and let’s be honest needed a little confidence boosting run 👊🏻 my trainers were in a much worse state than i care to admit for berlin so last night i bit the bullet and headed to @asicseurope in marble arch for a gait analysis and splashed out on a couple of pairs of trainers.
was excited to try out the metarun’s this morning but not as excited at my 5am alarm 🤣
met up with @we_run_diabetes at notting hill and headed out. emma struggled with her sugars today with massive highs and lows but somehow managed to pull it out of the bag! she wanted to stop at 6 but never did and seeing how comfortably she smashed out the last 7 miles was awesome!
awesome work emma and as always an absolute pleasure to run with you #legend 😊 believe in yourself because we all do and i know you’ve got this 👊🏻 as for me, it’s only 5 days since the disappointment of berlin and i’m really pleased i was able to b**g out a sub 2 half that felt really easy.
i’ve had my little sulk about berlin marathon time and understand the mistakes i made. i’m very lucky that i’ve got another chance at getting this right in 16 days and today was a really good confidence boost.
the trainers made a huge difference as well!
just gotta pray for weather like this on 7th october in chicago 🤞🏻 working now and then off out for some drinks tonight 😊🥂 then on saturday watching @citygirlcat@we_run_diabetes and @newfoundrunner (maybe) smash the @swimserpentine 2 mile swim 😊 and then heading to see @anthony_joshua fight at wembley with lady markwell @citygirlcat 😍😍😍 sunday i believe daddy will be chilling bruv innit 🤣

what pushes me to run faster, further and better? .
1. i've been running since 9 years old so running comes kinda naturally to me. but! transitioning from sprinting 100m to running 21km did not come easy. my determination to prove to myself that i can complete it within 2.5 hours pushed me across the finish line. they say if you want to learn about yourself, run a marathon (or in my case, a half). the urge to give up is always there but i try to distract myself by thinking of the food i'll be eating after the run 😂
2. the running community, no doubt about that! i wouldn't have continued running if it weren't for the support i received from the people i now call my family and crew. reminiscing all the fun we had! you guys inspire me to reach new heights when you bring back medals and stories every week. .
3. the gear i use for my runs. it's important to have comfortable clothes (no chaffing please🙅🏻) because if it's uncomfortable, it's gonna be a source of distraction while you're running. i like to listen to an audiobook on my jaybird earphones if i'm doing a longer distance and sometimes i run an extra loop or two just to finish the chapter! the last but most important thing is my shoes. now, i've had my current pair for 5 years already. they have served me well but it's time for an upgrade to the #gelkayano 25 don't you think so? 😉 c'mon, i even attended the 25th anniversary party of the kayano series in london!! ❤️ @mandydigren@lottarunsandjumps
