Take a science fiction guided tour of a landscape that once was and explore the high line from a seemingly alien perspective. leading a journey through the park, the tour guide muses on the strangeness of a past civilization eons after its inevitable ruin. in no more shimmering cowboys, the @highlinenyc becomes a theme park, parading the galactic tragic myth that was the american dream. rotting shimmering cowboys, incarcerated mothers, and imagined folk songs are part of an apocalyptic adventure depicting our present time with @yaratravieso

Adding some dynamic movement to your core work with dead bugs and ab wheel roll outs.
💪🏻the majority of any well rounded strength and conditioning or sport performance should focus on the global, compound athletic and strength movements such as sprint, jump, throw, squat, hinge, lunge, push, pull, and carry. you’ll get a ton of great core work from this stuff as well. however, having a strong core training program can significantly enhance the benefits derived from your main movements.
😭if you haven’t acquired the skills required to create and maintain tension at your core during movement, it will be very difficult to fully realize your potential as energy transfer from the lower limbs to upper limbs will be less than efficient-which could lead to diminished performance and a potential injury.
⚡️a few anti extension exercises i like to program are swiss ball dead bugs, and ab wheel roll outs. they teach you how to create and maintain tension at your core as you move your limbs through extension and flexion patterns commonly seen in the gym and in sports. the third video is a med ball slam for upper body power-you can see how this mimics the ab wheel rollout as my hips and shoulders simultaneously move into extension/flexion and then immediately reverse course to rapidly throw the ball into the floor. there is no movement at my core, which allows for a precise and powerful transfer of energy from the ground into the implement (ball) for maximum power.
Yesterday was amazing!! literally a dream collaboration wish come true✨🎨 thank you to @kirzart & @laurielumley for helping me bring my vision of merging visual art & spoken word poetry to life, we really did take the audience on a magical journey🎤🎨 it felt so crazy being able to perform this freshly written poem which i hold so close & so dear to my heart especially whilst knowing that #worldsicklecellday was literally just tuesday gone & having acknowledged that i have been battling with my health a lot recently, it’s always a constant internal ongoing battle between my health & my art & it’s never an easy one, i find it so hard to slow down at times & listen to my body but moments like this remind me why i do what i do & motivates me to keep on going.
