I can't even begin to explain how happy I am. Deciding last minute to jump into this Kentucky muscle show 3 weeks before was one of the best decisions. It was such a great experience and had the best time competing in physique for the first time.  Now time to dial in and be ready for West Virginia!! 😍💪 Photo credit:  Hector Mendoza

5️⃣ TIPS TO SLAYING YOUR MEAL PREP

1️⃣Portion control; if you are not weighing or measuring your food use your hands! 👊🏼 size carbs and veggies 🤚🏼 (palm) size protein and thumb size for fats.
.
2️⃣KISS keep it simple stupid! Don’t over complicate things. In each meal make sure you have protein, carb, fats and some veggies. Dress up your meals once you’ve got the hang of it.
.
3️⃣Make food in BULK. Prepare your protein and carb sources for 3-4 days so that you can easily assembly meals. When I am making rice I will make about 4-5 servings so that I can simply grab n’ go!
.
4️⃣Create a grocery list based on recipes you want to prep for the week. Make your life easier for sticking to the plan! Only buys the foods you are going to be using for your weeks meal prep. .
5️⃣Prep healthy treats🤤 to number 4 you don’t want to have tons of junk food in the house because you will eat it. I prep protein desserts so that I can enjoy treats while still staying on track

Well, it’s now or never. This is my first time participating in this challenge and honestly looking at these photos, I see a lot of areas that I can improve in. It’s time to buckle down and see what I accomplish in these next 8 weeks! I unfroze my gym membership for this so it’s going DOWN lol. Thank you @partymorter for using your good camera (although sort of regretting this haha)

Ahhh finally received my TRX Certification in the mail.  No longer just qualified, which really just gives you a drop of what they have to offer. I started using TRX with clients and myself for over 10 years ago.  Going to conferences and symposiums I wanted to learn from the best. The classes will humble you. I definitely learned a lot with additional 100hrs of  course classes. I wanted to be truly certified to not only stand out, but to be the best instructor I can be for my clients. #transformationtuesday Don’t let your past define who you are. It’s something I myself am still working on. There was a period in my life during my last couple years in college and years following where things just go as planned. It really affected me in a bad way which took a huge toll on my health for the worse. A combination of constant stress, unhealthy lifestyle, awful eating/drinking habits, and depression, it was just a very bad situation which lead to ton of weight gain and life threatening health problems. I had to change or who knows if I would be here to share my experience. It def wasn’t easy but I kept at it even when everyone doubted even family members or didn’t understand why I ate what I ate or never wanting to miss goin to the gym. I wasn’t doin it for any of them it was for me. A lot of dedication/sacrifices had to be made to change my life for the better and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Down 115+ lbs from when I started. I not only changed my physical appearance but most importantly my lifestyle and what’s inside. Im at a much better place bc of it. As much as I still think about how bad those times were, I can’t let that part of my life hold me back. Ppl that didn’t know me before my weight loss I never bring it up and even ashamed if they found out. It’s not somethin I openly tell ppl. Ppl tend to judge way too easily and it’s hard for me to want to explain myself. I’m still the same nerdie Asian guy with same personality just looks different. Your past will always be there and you should learn from it to better yourself. Keep true to who you are and if you want something bad enough go out and get it, nothin or anyone can get in your way other than yourself.
