🍃here’s a practice i do often i’d like to share with you. it’s a practice that tethers me to the planet 🌎 and reminds me of the constant and evolving 〰️.
🍁🍁i pick up a handful of fallen leaves from the ground and i hold them for few moments. i notice the space the leaves take in my hand. i name the leaves if i can - oak - maple. then think about the leaves full and alive. green and shimmering in the sun, wet in the rain, and blown in the wind. i think of the moment they first met the day. they knew some how they were going to take shape and emerge in to the sky. the energy that powers the tree.
the roots moving down and knowing. 🌫
it all becomes so magical and unbelievably. and then, they, like everything, like me and you, changed. the green life fades and they take on colors that are wise and noble. golden. orange. yellow. and they fall. and what seems to be the last of their being-ness is really a new beginning. designed by nature perfectly they will break down and the nutrients will merge with microbes and creatures and they will nourish the soil and live as something new. for these few moments, thinking about these leaves i’m reminded and strengthened and i find peace in the unexplainable and mysterious nature of the universe. the earth is magic. .
each day is born with a sunrise
and ends in a sunset, the same way we
open our eyes to see the light,
and close them to hear the dark.
one has no control over
how our story begins or ends.
but you can influence by
meeting the right people
who can leave a lasting impression
