Red flags to watch out for before signing with a modeling agency
the more you know about the agency, the more informed you will be about the legitimacy of the establishment. it's important to start your modeling career with real professionals, so be careful of anyone who promises that they can make you a star overnight.
1️⃣reputable agencies will tell you that the industry is very tough to get into and only a very small number of people have what it takes to succeed. lots of good looking and talented people struggle to get enough work. if they promise huge numbers to start be careful.
2️⃣beware of street scouts, some fake agencies target young aspiring models on the street, in shopping centers etc..telling them they have 'the look of a model'. they take your details and a photograph and tell you they can find you work, they don't intend to find you work how does one get a job one does not understand, reputable agency sought to groom their models before sending them off for castings or jobs if what they're offering seems too good to be true, it probably is.
3️⃣legit agencies let you take paperwork away to read carefully at your leisure. make sure that you understand all the terms and conditions of a contract before signing it. ask the questions and be suspicious of anyone who can't or won't give you clear answers.
