Villanelle bomber complete!!! i might never take it off. i love how this bomber is both high-frosting but also very wearable. sometimes i think you can tell how much you love a garment by how comfortable you are when taking photos of yourself in it, and i was just out there serving looks and taking names and feeling the assassin chic power!!! and then the morning sun shone on my face like, yassss queen!!! i got you! ☀️👑😂 for those of you catching up, this is my copy of a philip lim floral cloque bomber worn by villanelle in killing eve (see previous posts for pic). now for the sewing deets:
✖️ pattern: the bobbi bomber from @stylearc. this is a great pattern! i love style arc, they just fit my body really well out of the envelope. .
✖️fabric: i found this floral cloque fabric that’s a dead ringer for the philip lim at an etsy shop called wikilaces. it was an amazing fabric to work with! ribbing and lining from @emmaonesock. .
✖️mods: i did make some changes to get the jacket closer to my inspiration, namely chopping 4” off. i had to move the pockets and change the shape of the bags after shortening so much, but i am digging the cropped look. i also made a swayback adjustment because there was a lot of volume in the back and i wanted a trimmer fit. i also eliminated the zipper guard because i wanted clean symmetry when worn open. i will say style arc instruction are sparse, which i don’t mind, but i had to google how to bag the lining. i did it!! my first! .
✖️verdict: this jacket gives me mega confidence and makes me want to swear like a pirate. in the best way. 🏴☠️ #sewing#sewcialists#stylearc#sewfrosting#sabobbibomber#sewistsofinstagram#handmadewardrobe#sewvillanelle#villanelle#villanellestyle#killingeve
Add another tally to the #wikstenshift count for my closet (i’m up to 3 now, if we count the dress). ☝🏽the cotton fabric here is from india, and the border is just the selvage of it trimmed away and reattached to the sleeves and body, in place of the folded hems. there are tons of imperfections in the fabric, as is typical of this stuff (a bit of dye bleed here, threads snagged in the weave there), but i don’t mind at all. i also freely admit that i made this without ironing even once - a little finger pressing goes a long way when your ironing board is two flights up and you just can’t be bothered. ✂️🧵✂️ @shopwiksten#sewingrebel#sewing#sewistsofinstagram#sewcialist#memadeeveryday#memadewardrobe#handmadewardrobe#imakemyownclothes

Feeling peachy a dress i sewed out of men’s dress shirt fabric. also, trying out a new hairstyle + new @bonlook glasses but, i think i prefer my go-to keiko style. where are your favorite glasses from? ✨🎃❤️
