this artwork by me was inspired after i came across an interesting theory by john barrow. like the kardashev scale he tries to rank a civilization based on their technological progress, except he focuses more on microdimensional mastery.
in simple words, it's basically to manipulate or change smaller units of an object simply to create a specific function.
about two hundred thousand years ago this process of 'microdimensional mastery' began amongst us. big early milestones in this process would involve the stone age tools assembled or the discovery of fire.
later on we start making solid structures like buildings and this is because we start to understand the importance of function and structure.
we have now almost come to a point where we can manipulate the human body to not be on grounds with hiv. all this is simple unitary work done with a growing sector of expertise.
so in this scale, what lies ahead for us?
according to john barrow, next would be manipulating molecules and atoms. from changing molecular structures to form new material or to edit individual atoms creating nanotechnologies. this scale is pretty vast and detailed and the highest point of this (type omega minus) is to manipulate space and time.
i can't even imagine something like that, mainly because it seems physically impossible for us in the current state were in.
anyway what really fascinated me is how evolution of the human brain is connected to this theory. early humans probably would have not used more than 2 percent of their brains potential. now it's a myth that a really smart person uses 10 percent of it. so the brains potential is most likely going to keep increasing over the years.
i feel the potential of the brain and microdimensional mastery have a key relationship. imagine accessing 100 percent or say atleast 15. what would we be capable? what could our understanding of a structure be? we don't know what lies ahead for us in terms of our potential. #digitalart#visionaryart#sketch#evolution#technology#theory#johnbarrow#psychedelicart#futuristic#art#supplyanddesign
