Look! it’s me!!! @cleveland.spotter caught me taxiing out of cle on the way to ord.
such a cool shot!
still pinching myself that i’m in the left seat and that i get paid to steer a jet! (taxiing is still new and exciting to me, so just let me have my moment) ✈️
En: thank god my standby duty is over now!
it's always a great pleasure to have to go out quickly for a day trip.
i don't want that! 😭😂
sorry, my mood tends towards zero.
did you know that we have to be on the plane within 60 minute, if we're called out of standby for a flight?
no fun, guys! that's not funny!
you can imagine how heavy the suitcases are.
you have to be prepared for - 35c° in kazakhstan, or +35c° in singapore.
or you don't need any luggage, because you only have a senseless day trip. ☝🏻😅

No chieftain is as homely as the one you fly all the time, but this one came pretty close. a nice way to end the working week, plus seeing some blue sky too! ☀️
#lieblingsmenschen#fighter#flying#high #❤️ #instapic#happy#thankful#friends#germany#uetersen#plane#redhair #🙏🏼 #2019#instagood#picoftheyear#throwback#memories#family

2020 lrhoy ambassador!
savanna stirling! ⭐️
make sure you are following @savannastirling to keep up with her road to lrhoy and to win some great prizes!!
• team of horses: i have a team of 4 competition horses and 1 baby, at a range of different levels. ngahiwi lenny my main eventer i event at 3* level, drums n roses who has just stepped up to 3* level, henton flamboyant a baby 6yo of the team she has just stepped up to 1* level. plus a new addition pantomime, she is changing careers as she is a level 3 dressage horse but learning to event now. my baby otho is a 4yo from sydney, australia i have recently backed him myself and he will be out and about towards the end of the season. • goals for 2020 lrhoy: i aim to take both lenny (ngahiwi lenny) and weeman (drums n roses) to compete in the cci3* competition. the goal is to be competitive on both and improve on my performance from this year. also to give both the horses and myself exposure to the fantastic atmosphere and environment that the lrhoy builds. its a super exciting event and one we are very much looking forward to.
• favourite part about the show: my favourite part of lrhoy is the atmosphere and pumping crowds on cross country day, you do not get anything like it in nz, so to be able to experience and compete in that environment is really special. i also enjoy being able to watch the different disciplines all compete in the same vicinity, it makes you appreciate each discipline and the riders and horses who compete in them.
so make sure you are following savanna and keeping up with our updates 💛
On the radio there are about three aircraft getting changed over to runway 6r, but i don't care, because i'm over here blasting "ride of the valkyries" in my head and living the dream, as i ooze down the glideslope at 60kts, like a slug on a sliding glass door.... .
Trust your instruments...
airplanes have gauges, lots of them. they tell the pilot every bit of information about the plane that he or she needs to know to safely fly it. it’s not too hard to fly in clear skies, but to fly in clouds - in ‘instrument conditions’ - greater training is required. you have to trust your instruments.
there are multiple types of visual and physiological illusions that can happen to pilots - such as vertigo or spatial disorientation - where your body actually lies to you. you may be convinced that you are in a steep turn. it may really feel like it, but if you believe your body and disregard your instruments, you can lose control of the aircraft and put yourself in great danger.
sometimes life is cloudy and uncertain, like flying in instrument conditions. when it comes to truth, trusting god is just as imperative as pilots trusting their instruments. feelings are great. some are very beautiful and very captivating. but feelings can lie to you. if you trust your feelings alone, sooner or later you will be deceived, and the consequences could be catastrophic. god gave us his word for a reason, because it “is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” (hebrews 4:12).
question your feelings. trust god.
