Saying adieu to summer simply and deliciously. fresh chèvre and tomato, for me, is a magical combo, especially when the goat cheese gets to warm on fresh toasted bread. a drizzle of good olive oil, a pinch of basil, flaky sea salt and a hint of fresh ground pepper complete it. (truth be told, i still have a stash of heirloom tomatoes on the counter, so this isn’t the very last one🙃). toast here is a gf buckwheat which is my go to when good sourdough not on hand. #howisummer#tomatotoast#chevre
Pink apple galette with tahini frangipane, pre-bake.
in addition to the union square greenmarket, i popped into chelsea market before i left new york on friday and treated myself to some tahini and fancy halva from @seedandmill. i decided that my first project with the pink apples would be a simple galette, with tahini frangipane from a recipe on @food52. the crust is adapted from @smittenkitchen—with 5% rye in the flour mix. post-bake photo to come.

I usually keep it to just zucchini for this grilled ribbon salad. but with a yellow squash to use, i combined both these green and yellow veggies and then added ricotta salata, pine nuts and white balsamic vinaigrette. recipe link in profile.
