A visitor enters the #tomb of #safdarjung through the two storeyed main gate. the tomb with it's char bagh - persian quadrilateral garden layout - is the last #mughal tomb garden.
it was the last saturday of 2017, and the plan was to visit #qutubminar. huge throngs of visitors were found suffocating around the entrance. the traffic made sounds of agony to make a slight budge in the smoggy afternoon. that's when the green and yellow autorickshaw took us to this new destination. around 30 mins of going though blazing honks was awarded with a calmer late afternoon
few visitors were taking stroll, taking selfies and photos of the tomb. but the pigeons and crows playing on the branches of the many disciplined trees in the char bagh far outnumbered the visitors. it was a good quite early evening to marvel at the architecture. but the muted marbles and the broken sandstones at many parts of the tomb were calling for more watchful eyes.
