If this isn't the most perfect summarization of 'Sunday', then we don't know what is. 😂⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Day 18 of @joannehawker #marchmeetthemaker and the prompt is “mistake or lesson” and my take on that is really very simple. I have made hundreds of mistakes and I treat each one as a lesson. It’s the joys of learning something from scratch. So when new crafters message me asking questions like “what wool are you using for this” or “how did you make that bit look like that” I can’t help but go off into a daydream to a few years ago when I was in their position starting out. I was weaving through every nap time to work out where I was going wrong with my attempted wall hangings... or watching out for the postman delivering a £6 ball of wool that I could barely afford on maternity pay - for it then not to be what I was after. Why didn’t I just ask a professional weaver? You might ask. Because that’s not how life works. And it’s certainly not how businesses succeed. I’m all for #communityovercompetition when it comes to support and praise for each other, trust me I have so many weaving friends I shout about and share regularly. But giving away information just because someone asked undermines the learning process I embarked on. So get your head down and keep trying, if you order yarn and it’s not what you thought it was - save it or swap it with a fellow weaving friend. Take your time...Making mistakes is often the route to success 🤗🥰 Happy Monday! .

Why are you afraid to show up? Really ask yourself that.
—
I get so many messages weekly asking me how I’m “confident” enough to show up in my stories talking to the camera or share photos of myself for the world to see. To me it’s second nature. So oftentimes when people ask for advice on how to be confidently themselves online without feeling weird about it, at first I don’t know what to say. Because it DOES come natural to me.
—
But I slowly realized there’s something I inherently don’t care about that a lot of people get hung up on... the fear of being seen. The fear of rejection. The fear of looking like a fool in front of everyone.
—
So why do SO many of us not show up for the world in the way we were meant to? Because ultimately we care too much about what others will think of us.
—
So here’s a lil page from my book that hopefully helps you today:
I genuinely don’t care what people think of me. I don’t care if I get weird comments on my dancing videos. I like to dance, so I dance. I don’t care who sees my pimples when I show up in my stories with no makeup on. Because the value of showing someone out there that REAL is so much better than perfect is more valuable to me than someone thinking, “wow she looks bad.”
—
Anytime I feel self conscious + doubt whether or not I should show up... I think about that young girl out there who follows me. I think about how I can be a positive influence to HER. I stop thinking about me & my insecurities. And instead think, “if I can show up boldly as God created me to be, maybe I can teach her she has the power to do the same.”
—
So friend, get out of your own head. YOU have the power to decide what kind of influence you want to have on the world. And when you second guess + doubt your awesomeness + hide... you completely ignore your power to be a positive influence on someone else. ❤️ Show up. Even if your knees shake. I promise you, you DO have the power to make a difference. You first just have to get over yourself to do it. 😉

If this inspired you, tag 3 friends in the comments you want to share it with. Let them know there’s beauty in showing up boldly & imperfectly themselves. ❤️ Why are you afraid to show up? really ask yourself that.

Since we have gotten married we’ve moved 3 times... and two of our cars took a toll for the worst. You never really can prepare for what life throws at you but that’s okay because it brings GROWTH.

Someone once told us that we probably wouldn’t know what life would be without the chaos we experience and to tell you the truth.. probably not 😂 We life a life full of adventures and unknowns but that’s okay because it builds faith, trust, and patience with not only each other but the Lord.
I’ve learned to cherish each and every moment. Sometimes that’s challenging but I truly believe you are meant to EMBRACE where you are. EMBRACE where you are planted. And this isn’t always easy for me. I often see the future and what it could be but I am reminded that there is a nugget of growth in each season.
Embrace where you are. Embrace your current circumstances. Embrace the struggles and hardships. Embrace the chaos. Embrace your loved ones. Life is all about embracing where God has you. It may not be your ideal circumstance but there’s a reason for every season. Don’t forget it. 🌿
