One of those days when a totally flat, gray sky starts to break up...and this happens.
this is st. john’s danish lutheran church in shennington, wisconsin. it was built in 1902 on land donated by fred shenning. years later another church, st. peter’s, was relocated to the same property. the churches sit side-by-side, and the two congregations coexisted and shared a driveway & parking lot until st. john’s closed in 1987. the site is now known as “two churches.” (i’ll post both churches at a later date)
also, my last post featured a jack daniels whiskey barrel, and a story about a gentleman named dan call...a distiller & preacher back in the 1850’s. i thought this old church would be appropriate sitting next to the whiskey barrel in my gallery. hope you agree! .
