after nusfjord, my boyfriend and i joined my meetup buddies at the con for a 4p game of railroad revolution 🛤🚞 my bf won, while my meetup friend came a close 2nd, 227-222-195-187. both of them went for the western union strategy of course 😂
we used the designer variant that apparently makes the western union strategy less ‘broken’, but it didn’t seem to change the game too much. western union is an easy source of money, points and other bonuses, so it’s hard not to go for it.
the op strategy detracts from an otherwise fun game. the worker placement was fun and unique with the different-coloured workers, which had variable actions depending on the core action being used. i also always enjoy a route-building game, so this was right up my alley.
a good game that i’d love to play again, though i probably wouldn’t buy it since my boyfriend found the op strategy a dealbreaker 🤷🏻♀️

So many pagodas ⛩ in century: eastern wonders. this is currently my favorite of the series, but i’m excited to get my copy of century: new world 🏜 soon. ——
have you played any of them, what’s your favorite and have you played any of the combined games?

Finally got some decent storage for my d20s! all these are available as the keyrings we do, but i don't think all are listed.
part of our catch up will be admin on the store, we have a lot of sold out stuff that needs looking into and renewing!
Spoiler alert: the blue meeple does not like this game!
we recently bought nmbr9 at our flgs mid year sale for 50% off the red meeple was excited as she’d had her eye on it a while.
the short of it is we will struggle to get it to the table but the red meeple will persevere!

a very quick simple abstract game of perfect information. aim of the game is to take your opponents master or get your master into their base. what i really enjoy about this one is that in any one game there will only be 5 possible moves. these cards can be seen by all players, this adds a fantastic tactical layer as you share these moves with your opponent. it’s all about when you play certain cards to make certain moves, attempting to trap your opponent into giving you the cards you need. really good back and forth and it’s speed makes it very replayable.
one of my favourite abstracts

I played 7 wonders for the first time since i played it for the first time. it’s a crazy simple card drafting game but admittedly the first time i played i didn’t know what the heck i was doing until the very end. i think i was imagining it was more complicated then it was and was and i ended up surprised it was so simple. after playing it again i can i say thoroughly enjoy it as a quick filler game, especially with a lot of people. for 7 wonders fans out there, what are some expansions i should grab?
