This photo of orca will be a large acrylic in our living room to match the one of rajah i took last year. funny thing is... i had in my head a specific pose for rajah back when i set out to make these black background photographs, and we just could not get the exact angle and position i had in mind. but, we happened upon something even better by total accident he posed himself into an amazing composition. this week when i was creating orca’s photo to match it happened the same way. clicking away trying to get the image in my head, and when we stood back she just turned herself and looked like this so i captured it. not thinking much we kept going putting her back into the pose we thought we wanted. and at the end of the shoot i reviewed the photos. this is the one to match rajah’s and she made it that way! my dogs are always teaching me in my craft but also in life. things don’t always go as planned but when we take the moment for what it is, it’s better than we could have imagined on our own. this is the lesson that orca has been teaching me in so many ways, ever since the moment she was born.

Meet my personal assistant, @annalcg. i just wanted to dedicate a post to her because, well, i must give her credit for something: introducing me to books. obviously i introduce her to more (bhagavad gita, thoreau, kabir, bill bryson, classic science fiction), but i wanted to extend my appreciation. she also gives me treats, so.
