Last weeks session with @_ashdalton . My body is feeling dead today so I’m skipping tonight’s session and using the time to plan for tomorrow’s classes,  finding some awesome beats for my RIDE class at @roxlife_uk 🤓

Hopefully tomorrow I will feel back on top ready for another upper body session, despite a crazy day of teaching...🤔 the hardest part of my job being so physical is that I struggle to find the balance to get my own training in too. If I go mental in the gym it means I often can’t teach 100% energy wise. (Over training should be my middle name). I’d be interested to hear how other instructors manage this? .

So sometimes you’ve just got to listen to your body and rest. After this mornings classes I made sure I stretched out and took care of my body. .

UPPER HYPERTROPHY WORKOUT BY @oakleyoday 💪⠀

So, for the Upper Hypertrophy workout, we are still going to focus on compound exercises, except we are going to be working in the 8-12+ rep range.⠀

The 4 main compounds you need to focus on:⠀
1️⃣ Horizontal Push (Chest Press)⠀
2️⃣ Vertical Push (Shoulder Press)⠀
3️⃣ Horizontal Pull (Row)⠀
4️⃣ Vertical Pull (Pullups/Lat Pulldowns)⠀

After finishing up your compounds you can move on to the fun and fancy stuff, “Isolation Exercises.”⠀

Here are a few options you can add into your workout:⠀
✅ Bicep Curls⠀
✅ Tricep Pushdowns⠀
✅ Lateral Raises⠀
✅ Cable Lat Pullovers⠀
✅ Chest Flyes⠀

Deadlifts are the one exercise that I hated since I started lifting. I never got a good example on the form etc. And because I used to have some back injuries I avoided them. But I also don’t like comfortzones so I am starting them now.
