BACK ATTACK! Been a long time since I did rack pulls and I forgot how much you feel like a beast during them!💪 And I also had a little mishap during this workout😂 My grip gave out before I found balance when I was done with my assisted Pull-ups and I ended up falling to the ground straight on my butt/side, it was funny as hell but I did legit hit my head so I'm glad it wasn't worse!🤷🏻‍♀️ I don't even know what happened there?! 😂 Fall 7 times, get up 8! This workout felt so extremely good in the burn my muscles out kinda way! Details👇

1️⃣Rack Pulls 4xAMRAP(In the 15-20 range)
2️⃣SUPERSET with #3: TRX inverted row 4x15
3️⃣SUPERSET with #2: Assisted Pull-ups 4x15
4️⃣Lat Pull Downs: 1 set is 10 reps: 3 second pull, 2 second pause, 3 second negative then upped my weight and did AMRAP regular reps x4 sets(Working on TUT)

SO excited to kick this week of!! Started today with 25 minutes of fasted cardio, ate a good filling breakfast, and now I’m off to the gym!
SO many things to be happy about- I’m finishing the last touches of the at home booty guide (release date to be announced), I’m finally back on my gym BS and SO excited to get back to the EZFitGuides (#EZBB especially- my gurls out there know the pain), & I’m waiting on my busted lip to heal to film 2 videos for YouTube I know you’ll enjoy the crap out of. 🤗

This was a killer dropset on T-bar rows. Yes the form wasn't the best but after doing an ascending pyramid up to the start weight, the fatigue was serious. Once the back isn't rounded it's still safe.

I chose to use 10kg plates to get a better range of motion and to allow for more volume (sets). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I saw something on Instagram yesterday which made me hit the unfollow button faster than I inhale a bowl of oats 🙅🏻. It involved a ‘muscly backs on girls are gross’ type vibe. Girls tearing other girls down is one of my many gripes but anyway it got me thinking...

Have you ever found yourself bound by social and gender biases when considering your priorities for training? I know I was when I started weight training, I wanted good glutes and abs because I felt that’s what girls should want and why would I bother wasting my time trying to pull up my own body weight? Surely that was for the guys huddling around the heavy weights...oh how we are evolving 💪🏻. Read on for just a few of the MANY reasons you should train your back👇🏻

1️⃣ Improving overall muscle mass - our back muscles comprise a large surface area of our musculature. Increase your muscle mass in this area = overall muscle mass ⬆️ = calories burned at rest also ⬆️.
2️⃣ Avoiding muscle imbalance and poor posture - muscle imbalance anywhere in the body increases your risk of injury, weak back muscles combined with overworked shoulder muscles (shoulder pressing queens I’m looking at you 👀) puts you at increased risk of shoulder rounding (read - poor posture, neck and shoulder pain).
3️⃣ Spinal health - strengthening the supporting muscles of the spine make for safer and more effective functional movements, e.g lifting, bending, twisting. Less likely to damage your back picking up a child for example or struggling when you are an old 👵 or 👴. 4️⃣ Aesthetics - probably the least important but important all the less. Along with giving you a “toned” back. developing your upper body can give the illusion of a smaller waist. Strut in that backless dress like the prin you are 👑. I promise you won’t get huge, trust me I keep trying 🙄. .
Some of my favourite back exercises:
- pull ups (I’m lying I hate these but they do wonders).
- Lat pulldowns.
- Bent over rows.
- Cable face pull .

Although not a “weak point” on the whole, my back has some pretty noticeable flaws and my rear delts are borderline non-existent. First year training to to bring up these specific flaws. Back day is also one of the few days I relish moving some big weight, although never at the expense of form. 🦍
