yesterday i was doing at demo at #fitcon in ottawa. i was doing a demo for my work at @popeyes_ottawa . i was just excited to show off some products. i jokingly said to my boss the only way i would see a presenter is if stan efferding was there @stanefferding when i went to look on speaker list for the day, to my incredible surprise stan was one of the speakers. talking about his famous #verticaldiet . i slipped in to his presentation and mange to grab a photo with him and asked him a question. later that day he was walking around the convention, i man up again (with some help from my boss @cjcrudz ) went over and was determined to talk to him. he was not only incredibly approachable he was also very interested in my question. not once did i feel like he was just talking to me cause he had to or i was bugging him. i even managed to ask what his plans were for later, and he told me he would be back at the convention after he trained if i wanted to talk some more.
so i came back later asked him some more questions and not once did i feel like he was annoyed he showed true passion for his work and continually pushing forward his knowledge. he then post on instagram that he would be lifting at #movatitrainyards the next day and i took the opportunity and went to see him again. he was super encouraging and gave me some amazing tips on my squat. i ended up hitting 335 for three reps for barbell back squats(which i wasn’t sure i could do.) he was supper knowledgeable and helped me and the 4 other guys there in between him hitting 5 plates for 5 reps for 3-4 sets.

i used to think everything that happened to me was because of luck. i truly believe now that life presents us with doors and it is our job to open them and take as many shots as we can.
