Finding beautiful camp spots is not always easy. we don‘t plan in advance where we want to spend the night. but most of the time we end up at amazing places by chance. by randomly drive somehwere. we spent two nights here at this peaceful spot with the best view ever. @momondo#momondoambassador
We were driving along the road and saw sand dunes in the far distance to our right. next thing we did, was pull over and took a dirt road towards that direction and found ourselves between dunes. that‘s what we wanted. a quiet, peaceful night under the stars. it was perfect! @momondo#momondoambassador
My oman trip started a bit challenging due to the flu. i have not been as productive as i wished to be. my first impression of oman is great though. the people are incredible kind and calm. i honestly didn’t expect them to be this chilled and calm! such a nice thing 😍. most of the people speak english, so it is very easy to get around with just english. the landscape is beautiful, i feel like it‘s a mixture between iran and morocco. can‘t wait what else i will find out about this country 🤗 #momondoambassador@momondo
now please send some healing wishes to @farzaneh__radmehr, she is starting to get the flu now 😭
I am finally back on the road again with my soulmate @farzaneh__radmehr! we are going to explore a little bit of oman by car and tent. this is going to be another unforgettable adventure for sure ☺️. i just wish i didn‘t get the flu right now! the last time i got sick was on a trip to thailand over a year ago. travelling is definitely not easy for the body and it really sucks not being home when sick.
Mushir zadi tomb in lucknow india. it was quite bizzar being in this beautiful garden, with flowers, trees and grass, when around it all, the busy indian city life is going crazy. #chalokumbh2019#upkc2019
On our last day in india, we had the opportunity to explore the town lucknow on our own for a few hours before our flights back to delhi. lucknow is full of historical places and has actually quite a lot of mosques. i love visiting mosques, they are so interesting, have different architecture from country to country and are simply photogenic. this is the mohammadi mosque, built between 1789-1814. #chalokumbh2019#upkc2019
Kumbh mela is the biggest festival on earth. hindus come from far away, on a specific astrological day, on a specific holy place where river ganga and yamuna are joining together. on that day, around 40 million people have been bathing together in the river ganges to wash away their sins. you can imagine, that people can easiely get seperated from their families and get lost. i‘ve constantly heard announcements of missing people. there are many many stories around this topic. children who get seprated from their families and never find them again, until the next kumbh mela where they accidently find eachother again. or not so nice stories like husbands take their wives to kumbh mela and loose them on purpose because they want to get rid of them😳. and many more. these are all stories i‘ve heard, whetever it‘s true or not, this event and stories are so surreal to me, that i get goosbumps just writing these words. #chalokumbh2019#upkc2019
The time at kumbh mela was definitely out of this world. you could spend days and days at this place and just watch and photograph people. with around 50 million people attending this holy hindu festival today, and 150 million over the course of 2 months, you’ll definitelly don’t get bored. the naga sadhus (naked sadhus) was one of the highlight for me. such an unknown world for me. some facts about them: the naga sadhus don‘t wear clothes or have any kind of possesions. they don‘t wanna be attached to anything. they live in caves in the himalaya mountains and only appear for the kumbh mela (imagine, no clothes, living in a cave in the himalaya mountains during winter!!! 😳🤷🏼♀️). they are ascetics and followers of the lord shiva. their body is covered in ashes and they smoke marihuana (maybe that‘s why they don‘t feel the cold 😜). and they perform some incredible poses for the visitors!
due to unexpected circumstances we couldn‘t see them taking their dip this morning in the holy ganga river. #chalokumbh2019#upkc2019
An early morning on the river ganga is simply magical. and quiet. silence is defenitely a rare thing here 😁. for someone like me, who likes calmness, this place can be challenging sometimes. but if you never step out of your comfort zone, you'll never experience anything new. i am so glad i came here eventhough india was never really on my bucket list. but i am loving it so far. people are so friendly and everything is so colorful. i could take a photo every two meters. #chalokumbh2019#upkc2019
Soooo, i am in india now! getting a little taste of this country and especially of the famous kumbh mela which is happening here every 6 years. to warm up, we visited varanasi this morning, took a boat tour and watched life happening along the river ganga. people were taking their holy bath, some were cremating their loved ones, some were playing badminton and others were doing laundry. so much happening there. can‘t wait to visit kumbh mela! #chalokumbh2019#upkc2019
