Walking into this week like this 😁
when it comes to popping to trap music i do this 💯been doing it since day one. great it’s a southern thing. to me popping has never been meant to be to one genre of music. it’s simply a tool to illustrate music 💪🏾#poptalk#movementart song by @famousdex @worldstar
@movementartis has been quietly working on the refresh of our touring show “love heals all wounds.” the performers & creative team are amazing. the whole process of creation is being turned into a major documentary 😁💪🏾 a lot to be thankful for. tomorrow we go back at it for two more weeks until a soft premiere in december. this has been an amazing challenge for me personally to truly step into everything it means to be a director on a project of this magnitude. i’ve directed plenty of times before but this process has been very unique in many ways. i’m just happy to have @lilbuckdalegend co directing with me @rsanders182 bringing all her genius writing/ideas, and mentorship to the table and @sozoartists helping as always, every step of the way. can’t forget @jasonyangviolin composing his a*s off. shout out to our dramaturg talvin wilks and lianne arnold on projections. power moves only this season!
Huge shout out to @nbc6 miami @nbcnews for giving me a platform to share my story and my artistry. miami & south florida, this piece airs a 9am on @nbc6 tune in check out my interview with reporter @kellynbc6 🙏🏾😁we had a blast chopping it up 🙏🏾💪🏾
80’s electro music always will get you in the mood to move robotic/animated. it’s hard for me not want to just dance big and dynamic. these last few months i’ve been working on small, tiny controlled movements. not really my style usually. i rather just get off and dance with high energy 😁 but i want to be well rounded in my craft. you have to work on the things your not good at 💯being funky and free is my natural vibe but i want it all to feel natural. it’s coming along! in due time.
Every practice i pick a song i love from my past and warm up to it. @missymisdemeanorelliott@timbaland “get your freak on” was my ish in high school. one of those songs we’d get off to. so for this session i wanted to move to this song first. light work. just getting the body going 💪🏾
