Newfoundland knitters have been keeping me warm during this run of bitter cold weather in massachusetts. always go to the nonia (newfoundland outport nursing and industrial association) retail store when in st. john’s, newfoundland, to buy wool mittens and socks. the nonprofit’s store features the work of about 175 knitters and weavers from the province. the tags on each item indicate in what town they were made.
