“just go shoot. i can give tips on composition and all that good stuff, but nothing comes close to being out there and finding out what works for you and your style. experiment with aperture. in low light situations, don't be afraid to increase your iso. shoot in manual mode so you become more adept with your camera and can adapt to different situations on the fly.”

“number one on my list of places to visit is... iceland! it's no surprise if you're familiar with my ig-- i'm a certified iceland fiend. it's a photographer's playground! if you're into waterfalls, auroras, and otherworldly landscapes, you have to go to iceland. a close (and i mean very close) second is patagonia! it has awesome hikes, impressive glaciers, and famous mountains. my third favorite place is petra. it's an awesome feeling walking through the siq, turn a corner, and come face to face with the treasury! i loved it so much that i'm heading back in september!”

“instagram is, for me, all for fun. i entertain ideas occasionally, but i'm happy with where i am right now. i enjoy photography too much to make a business out of it. i shot a couple of events a few years ago, but i was over it after a few months and i burned out. i didn't touch my camera for half a year after that experience.” @whatwouldjewdo on his instagram experience. his #createexploretakeover continues. #createexplore#createexplorediscover
“my love for photography began in college. i actually had dreams of going to medical school, so i would spend every waking moment studying for exams. when i wasn’t studying, i’d shoot random things outside or read up on photography tips. it was my escape from studying. obviously things didn't work out, but i’m able to invest more time in photography and travel!”
day 3 of the @whatwouldjewdo #createexploretakeover. #createexplore#createexplorediscover
“hello! my name is marcus, and i am a photographer based out of los angeles, california. i picked up my first camera almost 10 years ago, but finally found my niche in landscape and travel photography.
a registered nurse by training, i spend part of my week working in the intensive care unit at a level 1 trauma center, giving patients the best quality of life possible. caring for sick patients, often with metastatic cancer and multi-organ failure, has reinforced the belief that life is simply too short.
