Inhale: love, strength, courage, light 🧘✨
Exhale: fear, loneliness, unworthiness, sadness, discouragement

Amanda and the rest of the Blessed girls have been in a meditative mindset during their stay at the #BlessedRetreat in LA. They have been taking the time to really pause and reflect on themselves, their personal growth and their emotions. Amanda started the day with a yoga flow and journaling her thoughts and emotions, here are some wise words that come out of her reflection:
-
“Whatever emotions you're feeling today, maybe there's an emotion that you are trying to avoid so you opened up Instagram, stop for a second right now and feel them. Let them make their way through your body so you can go on with your day. Recognize them, let them know that their existence is valid, but they also have no place in controlling your actions…And maybe let a little yoga flow through you at the same time!”
-
What are some ways you acknowledge your emotions? 💭
Be sure to check out our Instagram Story to see more snippets of the #BlessedRetreat in LA. Full vlog coming soon!

“Where do you get your protein from?” and “How much protein do you need daily?”🌱
-
These are two very common questions that come up whenever someone mentions a plant-based diet. When it comes to how much protein you need, it all comes down to how active you are! Generally, a minimally active person needs 15% of their macronutrient split allocated to protein, a moderately active person needs 20% and a very active (performance athlete) needs around 25%. For example, Jenna considers herself a moderately active person, which means she aims for a minimum of 20% protein, that’s about 100-125g for a 2000 calorie per day diet.
-
So where do you get your protein from? There are plenty of great high protein food options to meet your daily needs. Jenna’s favorites include tofu, tempeh, bean pastas, legumes, edamame, hemp seeds and of course, Blessed Protein. At 23g of protein per scoop, getting in your protein has never been easier (or more delicious!).

Carbs for breakfast?🍞
-
Starting your day with wholesome sources of complex carbohydrates, is the best way to feel fuller for longer and super satisfied. Complex carbs, such as whole grains, take longer for your body to break down. It’s also a great source of glucose for your brain, which needs energy in the morning. Without enough fuel for your brain, you will have trouble remembering, thinking, concentrating and learning.
-
Some great carb options include oatmeal, wholegrain toast and overnight oats. Be sure to get a balance of fruits, carbs and protein in your breakfast for the best start to your day. Blessed Protein is super easy to include in every breakfast option! Available in Salted Caramel, Choc Coconut or Vanilla Chai, you'll never have boring oatmeal again!
-
What are your favorite complex carb sources? We want to know in the comments!

Protein for breakfast?🌱
-
Start the day right. In fact, studies show that consuming high protein meals consistently throughout the day, is better for weight management, by making you feel fuller for longer. You will be less likely to go into starvation mode and binge.
-
High protein meals are also essential when following a muscle building program. They're also perfect for post-workout, assisting recovery and getting your energy back up, especially if you have been training in a fasted state.
-
The best way to increase your protein intake is by adding Blessed Protein to your breakfast. With 25g of protein per scoop, meeting your macros will be easy peasy (pun intended) 😉.

Maleah is a huge believer that health starts from the inside. While we spend a lot of time taking care of our bodies on the outside, it's important to recognise that our bodies are a reflection of not only what we physically consume, but also what we put into our minds. Taking care of yourself means looking at your eating habits, as well as your mental habits.
