That pnw mood is back! 🌧 it's raining cats & dogs out there. holy moly. nobody knows how to drive in the rain. the roads are actually slickest in the first half hour. the plants are going to love this. i actually sleep better when it’s raining. this weather makes me want to stay at home curled up with a good book. 🤓📈🗄📄🖊 phyllis is so great, amirite?
Rejection never feels good. it can be hard to come to terms with the fact that someone doesn’t like you or what you stand behind. realizing and accepting that not everyone is going to like you, the way you dress, how you speak or what you do is quite challenging, but a necessary place to be. this has been something that i’ve struggled with, but i’m continually trying my darndest to let things roll off in order to move forward and onward. here’s to staying strong when the ground you’re rooted in seems to crumble away. ✊🏻🌳 📷 @nateinthewild / 💻 me
🐾 nature cutie alert 🐾 i’ve never seen a mama fox nurse kits before–it was so heartwarming. the kits were obnoxiously rambunctious jumping all over her and play-biting her. she seemed completely uninterested in playing along with their shenanigans, but she didn’t fight them off; she didn’t even move. she stood there strong, loving, and patient. the kits soon realized that she wasn’t in the mood to play, so they took a brief pause for some milk. watching wildlife gives you such different perspectives on life. what amazing animals foxes are.
Fall colors have started to appear in mt. rainier national park! it’s that bittersweet moment when you realize that summer actually is coming to an end and nature is preparing for winter. i love seattle summer, so i look at photos of aurora to remind myself how gorgeous the upcoming seasons are and how much i adore seeing/photographing the northern lights. you haven’t truly experienced the arctic until you’ve seen sights like these. 😱 i’m all stoked for winter now and can’t wait until february to head back up to norway! i’ll be teaching how to shoot and edit aurora with @nateinthewild – it’s going to be so much fun! link in my bio for details on how to join us 💚
I’m spending the next few days in my favorite national park (you guys should know which one), so tag along with me in my stories! missin’ costa rica as usual, so here’s a shot from one of my favorite sunsets 😎
Happy moonday!🌛 i don’t even know where to begin with this one... the moon was an incredibly pleasant surprise while shooting astro the other night. it was a perfectly clear evening and right as the moon passed over mt. rainier, these wispy little clouds appeared. i never thought that i would ever get moon rays and flare while shooting the milky way, but the big g continues to confound me. 😍
The alaska range is home to some seriously jagged peaks. 😲 i’ve spent the past week reminiscing on how much growth i experienced during my trip to the last frontier earlier this summer, and i’m feeling ever so grateful that i had the opportunity to spend an entire month outside of my comfort zone. special thanks to @stanley_brand for supplying us with the most rugged gear for all of our alaskan adventures. #stanleyness
Eeee, it’s september, which means that beautiful autumn colors are comin’ in hot! 🍃🍂🍁 i am often asked if i was born in the fall because of my name, but nope; i was actually born at the tail-end of winter. however, that doesn’t change the connection that i feel with this upcoming season 😌
